Welcome Back Pack 29!!
Please plan to attend our August Pack Meeting at Arndt Church (outside) on Sunday August 25th beginning at 6PM. This is the night before the first day of school for most of our scouts, so we are going to keep this meeting short. Dress is Class A uniform.
Our scouts earned LOTS of advancements over the summer – from Forks Day Camp, Lopatcong Day Camp, and Akelaland, campers had a fun-filled, active scout camp schedule. We’ll be handing those out along with our “special” camp awards on Sunday. Please bring your own chairs for outside seating.
OUR SERVICE PROJECT FOR THIS YEAR:
Along with Arndt Church and Troop 29, we will be collecting Peanut Butter at each of our pack meetings to donate to the Interfaith Food Pantry in Easton.
Peanut butter is an excellent source of protein, keeps well without refrigeration, needs no cooking, is easy to prepare, and has gotten quite expensive. To help the Interfaith Food Pantry provide nourishing meals to the local community families, we have entered into a little competition with Troop 29 to see who can collect the most jars of peanut butter. At their first meeting, Troop 29 collected 96 jars!! If each of our Pack 29 families brings in just 2 small plastic jars of peanut butter, we might have a chance, but more importantly the families served by the food pantry might have a chance.
Please keep the jars small, so more families can be helped, and please keep them PLASTIC so no breakage occurs in the transportation or distribution of the jars.

Ever wonder how you can be more involved in helping out your pack? We are in need of an Advancements Chairperson to manage all of the rank advancements, beads, belt loops, Webelos pins, etc. that your scouts earn. Once per month, just before the pack meeting, you would ask the den leaders to submit to you the list of what advancements they need, take the list to the council store on Airport Road in Allentown, and pick-up the advancements. We have a store account so no payment needs to be made. For the pack meeting, the advancements are bagged for each scout and arranged by den so each den has them to hand out. Please consider helping out for a year or so. If you have any questions, contact Jeff Baker at jhbaker2001@yahoo.com or ask at the Pack meeting.
