This Thursday, 1/23, at 7pm is our Pinewood Derby Trial Night at Arndt Church. We’ll have the track set up, the official scale in place, and judges available to look over your cars if you have any questions.
IT IS NOT REQUIRED THAT YOU ATTEND. Just an opportunity for you to have your car weighed, inspected, and run down the track. Please bring your 2014 car only so everyone gets a chance on the track. Remember that our track’s stopping block is a foam enclosure – often decorations glued to the front of the car break off because of this design. Try to avoid having anything sticking up on the front of the car.
Our Pinewood Derby & Pack Meeting will be on Saturday, January 25th, at HOPE LUTHERAN CHURCH in Tatamy. Plan to arrive between 1PM and 1:15PM for registration. As soon as everyone is registered, racing will begin.
Additionally, we will be collecting Peanut Butter, taking money and reservations for Winter Camping (2/7-2/9), and selling tickets to our Blue & Gold Banquet (Feb 22, 4PM – $8 child, $12 Adult). Checks may be made payable to Cub Scout Pack 29.
For you newer families, the Blue & Gold Banquet is where scouts who have met their rank requirements will receive their new rank badges, and also where our Webelos 2 scouts will earn their Arrow of Light and some will officially cross over into Boy Scout Troop 29. It’s a catered dinner event, beginning at 4PM, and celebrates all of the hard work our kids have been doing over the last year. Please mark your calendars now if you haven’t already.
