This Saturday at 4pm is our Blue & Gold Banquet Dinner, at Hope Lutheran Church on Tatamy Road (where we had the Pinewood Derby) – our younger scouts receive the rank badges they’ve worked so hard on, and our Webelos 2 scouts receive their Arrow of Light, the highest achievement possible in Cub Scouts. Many of them will also cross over into Boy Scout Troop 29.
Please make sure your Scout wears his complete Class A uniform (shirt, hat, neckerchief) for this ceremony.
If you have any extra or old scout uniforms, books, neckerchiefs, T-shirts etc, we will be starting a “re-purposing bin”. As your scout grows and changes rank, we’ll be collecting anything you don’t want to keep, and making it available to anyone else in the pack to use. Please bring any of your “no longer needed” scouting supplies to Blue & Gold and we will find a home for them.
Also remember that we are continuing to collect Peanut Butter in small plastic jars for the Interfaith Food Pantry in Easton. Please bring a jar or two on Saturday.
We will start our signups for Akelaland Summer Camp – Mike Delgado will be collecting $100 deposits to hold your spot at Akelaland. We’ll be at camp beginning on Sunday, July 13th through Friday, July 18th. “Mini” weeks are also available for those who can’t stay the entire week. Full week is $365 per scout, Mini week is $255 (ends Wednesday). Parents wishing to come pay a lower rate.
Never been to Akelaland? Don’t know what to expect or if your scout will enjoy it? Watch these Akelaland videos with your son and see for yourself!
