Join us this Sunday, March 23rd, for our March Pack Meeting and BINGO!! fun event. Lots of prizes, no one goes home empty handed. Please remember to bring in a small plastic jar of PEANUT BUTTER to donate to the food pantry.
There’s still room left at Akelaland! Reserve your tent now! Bring your deposit check for $100 to Mike Delgado to make sure you don’t miss camp this year.
Also, we will have our Friends of Scouting donation drive. See below message from our council about the importance of supporting not only at our local pack level but also at the District level. Please bring any donation checks that you have with you to the meeting.

Parents of Pack 29,
What is scouting worth to you and your son? Is it worth as much as a month of cable TV? Is it worth as much as a season of soccer, baseball, basketball, or football? The please consider donating to Friends of Scouting this year.
“But I already paid my registration fee. Doesn’t that pay for my scout for the whole year?” you ask. Actually, none of that money goes to support your local council. Out of your registration fee, $12 goes to Boys Life Magazine, $24 goes to the national office, $2 goes to insurance, and the rest stays with our pack. The national office does not financially support our local council either, so it’s up to us.
For our council to support one youth in the Scouting organization for 1 year, it costs $270. This money is raised through popcorn sales, camp user fees, and Friends of Scouting.
Your next question might be, “Why is it important to support the council, after all, my scouting experience revolves around what happens in my pack?”
The council understands that strong Packs, Troops, and Crews are the backbone of the Scouting movement; however, the council provides the infrastructure that makes Scouting successful in hopefully every community throughout our Council. We do this by:
- Handling registrations and Boy’s Life subscriptions
- Maintaining literature, forms, and certificates needed by your leaders to carry out the program
- Keeping records of advancement and membership in the organization
- Producing timely literature to keep leaders updated on events and maintaining the Council website
- Taking reservations for various events throughout the year
- maintaining and operating camping facilities throughout the council
- And much, much more!
The Council is an important entity in the success of the Scouting program. A strong and viable Council means strong Packs, Troops, and Crews throughout the council and we need your support to ensure our success.
So what is scouting worth to you and your son?
One month of cable….$33 to $79
Soccer registration….$75 and up
Baseball registration….$50 to $195
Martial Arts (1 month)….$100
Even if you can’t afford the whole $270, every little bit helps. You can make monthly payments if you would like.
Please support our Council’s Friends of Scouting campaign.
