Hello Winter Campers,

I have a list of what you will need for winter camping, our meal plan, and agenda. Also attached is the directions to camp Minsi. The camp is about an 1 hr away so I would recommend any parents who can car pool together to do so just for your own sake.

Arrive Friday night after 6 p.m.

Friday night-settle in and get some rest for the next day

Saturday-hiking, kickball, wilderness skills, marshmallow Olympics, bingo, and more

Sunday-Breakfast, pack up/pickup by 11 a.m. please

What you need:

Warm sleeping bag

pillow

blanket

a twin sheet for the mattress

warm clothes

extra warm clothes

long johns

gloves

hat

snow pants

snow boots

shoes to wear inside the cabin

warm jacket

flashlight (we recommend headlamps so they can keep their hands free)

1 gallon of water per person camping

1 or more bundles of wood per family

toothbrush, toothpaste, any toiletries you may need

Cards

board games (I do not recommend Lego games)

toys (non electronic)

anything else to keep the boys busy

football, kickball

I would recommend packing two hats, and two pairs of gloves if you can

ABSOLUTELY NO ELECTRONICS (GAMEBOYS, IPODS, CELL PHONES) if you need to contact your child/or your child needs to contact you can call me or they can use my phone. After last year there will be no Pokemon cards and I would not recommend bringing anything that your child cannot absolutely live without.  Things may get lost, broken, or mistakenly packed away and sent home with someone else.  Finally please do not pack any food/snacks.  The pack provides all food including snacks, because of food allergies/restrictions we cannot have kids eating food that we are not in control of.

Meals:

Friday night-Please eat before you come. We will have some snacks for the boys before they go to bed.

Saturday breakfast-Egg scramble (w/potatoes, peppers, and onions), Cereal, Milk, Juice, and Coffee (adults only)

Saturday Lunch-Hot Dogs and chips

Saturday Dinner-Train Wreck (aka chuck wagon) and Italian bread

Saturday Dessert-Apple/Cherry Funfetti Cobbler and Peach Cobbler Plus a Smorey Surprise for the boys

Sunday Breakfast-Delgado Delicious Pancake breakfast with sausages on the side

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have 484-542-6482 or at kohlduny@hotmail.com

Camp Minsi is located on Route 940 in Pocono Summit, Pa

From Route 22:

Follow Route 22 West

Exit onto Route 33 North

Exit onto Route 80 West

Follow I-80 exiting onto Route 380 North

Take exit 3

At the stop light at the top of ramp turn left

Follow route 940 West for 1.1 Miles

Camp entrance is on the right across from the police station

After you enter the driveway for the camp you will pass the rangers house.  Keep following the road to the left.  You will pass the Camp Minsi sign.  We are the first cabin you will see off to your left, it is set back from the road a bit.  Look for the cars parked outside the cabin, as we are usually the only ones at the camp.

Thank You,

Michael Delgado
