Just 2 days until Akelaland. Some last minute reminders.
First – Yes I have received everyone’s payments. Apologies some checks are not cashed.
Bring those MEDICAL FORMS. They will send you home without them. A completed set for each attendee (parent and scout). Part C needs to be completed/signed by physician.
Also have copies of Scout Youth Protection Training, and PA Act 29 clearances.
Plan on arriving by noon Sunday. Setup in Unami camp from 12-1. Our checkin is 1:00 PM at the lodge.
Directions to Akelaland:
It’s about 45 minutes from Forks township.
Best option: using google maps you can search for “Akelaland Cub Scout Resident Camp”.
Or you can follow these directions:
PA 33 north to 209 South. Follow 209 south through Brodheadsville to Kresgeville. At Kresgeville go West on PA Route 534 for approximately 5 miles. Just past the Jonas Market and Texaco Station is Jonas Road (Jonas Hotel sits at the corner) Turn right. Entrance to camp (camp trexler road) is 0.2 miles on right.
Finding our campsite (Unami):
The parking lot is across from the pool, park towards far end of parking lot. Path to our site is about 3/4 down the parking lot ….The campsite is “Unami”. Go through the path, and past the outhouse, and our sites are to the right after the bridge. Look for the other campers in the Pack 29 Gold/Yellow shirts.
