Hi Pack 29 – we are all adapting to our new reality of social distancing. I am sure you are seeing online connections for school and other activities. We could be in this mode for quite a few weeks to come, so we are working on how to keep Pack 29 engaged in this new way.
Be on the lookout for meeting invites from your den leaders. Den meetings are small enough they should work well on Zoom or a similar video chat platform. Your den leader will find some advancements that are good for doing at home or outdoors with the family.
This is also a good time to remember that in cub scouts, “Akela” is a trusted leader who can complete requirements with the scout. This can be a den leader OR A PARENT! Yes, you as the parent are authorized to complete advancements and inform your den leader. Independent adventures with the family have always been allowed in cub scouting.
Use your handbook or check Scoutbook for a list of required adventures, or ask your den leader for ideas based on your scout’s advancement. If you have not logged into scoutbook before, we can resend invites and you can view your scout’s status and choose from many adventures.
Attached here are some great ideas for at home activities – whether you want to work on advancements or just have something fun to do.
Let’s all try to keep having fun and “Do Our Best”
