Pinewood Derby Trial Night, Wednesday, March 19th!
This is an opportunity for our Scouts to dial-in their final car details (installing axles/wheels, weights), confirm their car dimensions are within the rule set (PDF attached), and run the track in advance of this weekends Official Derby Day.
This event is open to our Scouts from 6 PM – 8 PM, in the basement at Arndt’s Lutheran Church.
The Pack will have axle drill jigs and pliers, specific to setting the axles.
We will also have additional self-adhesive tire weights so everyone has the opportunity to get their car as close to 5 oz. (without going over!) as possible.
It’s not too late to join the fun! If you haven’t picked up a derby car kit yet, you may do so during the Derby Trial Night event, or by coordinating a pick-up with Derby Crew Chief Tom.
Also note – Troop 29 will be having a Junior Leadership Training program under the pavilion tomorrow evening, so don’t be surprised to see our older Scouts running around outside the church.
