Thank you to all of our families for another successful Scouting for Food campaign! 2025 proved to be another successful year for the pack, and I’m proud of all of our scouts for their efforts and their impact on the community.
Here is a recap of our 2025 campaign:
- We distributed approximately 2500 flyers throughout Forks Township.
- We had 25 scouts participate this year, between Pack 29 and Troop 29.
- We totaled 108 scout volunteer hours.
- We were able to collect 2674 lbs of good, nonperishable items. We discarded another 100 lbs of damaged or expired items. This is a 300 lb increase from last year!
This year, we partnered with the Salvation Army of Easton again and donated the entire lot to them. They spent a few minutes with our scouts to talk about the importance of this food drive and talked about how it would impact our community. This has been a particularly difficult year for members of our community, and the Salvation Army estimates that this food will all be gone before Thanksgiving.
While we don’t specifically log volunteer hours for our leaders, parents, and siblings, I want to note that for every hour of time volunteered by a scout, there is at least one additional hour logged for a parent, guardian, or sibling who participated in the effort. That equates to over 225 total volunteer hours by our community!
Thank all of you for being the role models and examples that our scouts look to when we participate in community service projects like this.
