Just a reminder that deposits for Akelaland are due tomorrow at B&G
But wait Mr. Delgado I don’t know what Akelaland is all about!
Well let me tell ya!
Akelaland is our summer resident (sleep over) camp where the boys get to do all sorts of fun and exciting activities like hiking, swimming, fishing, camp fire stories, s’mores, row boating, canoeing, night hikes, more s’mores, theme hikes, a water carnival, a belly flop contest, singing songs, Scoutcraft and scout skills, whittling, and oh MORE S’MORES!!!
Oh wait you say you’re a Webelo 2 and you’ve already been to Akelaland and done all that. Well then you’re in for a real treat because you get to go to Pioneer camp.
At Pioneer camp you get to spend the whole week with the boy scouts learning new skills, team building, and exciting new challenges to get you prepared for your next level of scouting. Also you spend a night camping out and cooking with the boy scouts and get to go down to check out the OA call out.
So if this sounds like a fun week to you make sure you sign up at the B&G tomorrow.
Here are some of the details.
Where: Trexler scout reserve in Jonas Pa
When: July 17-22 (Sunday to Friday)
Cost: $370 for a full week scout and $155 for a full week adult
If you don’t think you or your scout are ready for a full week there is a mini week option that runs from Sunday to Wednesday, and you can always stay longer if you would like.
Mini Week Cost: $270 for scouts and $90 for adults
The rates above are the discounted early registration rates. $100 deposit is due tomorrow at B&G to hold your spot. After March 1st the camp rates go up $25.
We want each and every scout to get the summer camp experience and do not want anyone to decide not to go to camp due to financial restraints. Therefore the council offers Camperships to help offset the cost of camp. For more information and to obtain the forms please contact me directly.
