As previously announced, Pack 29 would like to hold a mini camp on the grounds of Arndt’s Church on July 24,25, and 26 from 4-6 PM each day. The scouts would rotate between different skill stations and activities and complete advancements. For example:
- Firebuilding skills
- camp/outdoor skills
- knot tying and crafts
- water safety / boat skills.
Based on guidance from the state of PA and BSA / Minsi council, we have some plans for how to hold this event as safely as possible. We also know that each family is in a different place right now in their comfort level for in person activities based on the situation in your household.
We need parents to please RSVP as to your plans to attend. We need enough scouts attending in person to hold a good event. Den leaders will be in touch.
RSVP by end of next week (Friday July 17) so we can plan accordingly.
Please consider if you want to attend and let us know.
Here are some of the safety protocols we would follow during the event:
- A check-in tent/area where all attendees are screened with a questionnaire. There are several conditions under which we can not allow someone to attend:
- symptoms of illness including fever, cough, or exposure to a family member showing symptoms
- recent exposure (within 14 days) to anyone testing positive for COVID-19
- recent travel to any state on the PA travel advisory list, which requires 14 days self quarantine
- Mandatory masks for scouts and adults
- limit shared equipment and wipe down anything shared between use of each scout
- hand sanitizer available
- No food will be served. Scouts should bring their own bottle of water and packaged bottled water will be available.
