Happy End of Summer! Now that we are moving into our regular programming, it is time to look toward fundraising. The funds we raise this year will be used for both scout accounts and to bring quality programming to all our scouts. Scout Funds are for your individual scout to use to cover costs of additional activities such as Iron Pigs baseball games, Akelaland camping, Phantoms games, Day Camp programming and more. The pack funds cover the costs we incur to cover patches, belt loops, Blue and Gold banquet, and the den meeting materials plus the bonus events we strive to bring to our Pack each year like our visit from Pocono Wildlife this past year. Our goal this year is for each scout to raise $200. That number sounds like a lot of money, but we are offering several ways to raise it so look to your individual needs and see which is the best fit for your family!

Country Meat Sticks
First up, we are offering Country Meat Sticks. This is a new product for our Pack to offer. They are $1 each and offer 12 different flavors. The order forms are below, and Alicia Austin has sticks on hand for immediate purchase. Order forms will be due to Alicia on September 1st and returned to you to dispense on September 11th at the Fall Campout. These are wonderful options for camping trips, sports games, door to door sales (Remember to practice safe scouting!), and family events. We will also have the opportunity to sell these at show and sells to be announced once plans are finalized. 20% of all sales go directly into scout funds. For each stick sold, your scout will earn $0.20. In addition, Country Meats also allows scouts to earn patches for the sticks sold. The first patch is earned at 24 sticks, going up from there.

Popcorn
This years popcorn sales will be take order and online. While we are working on getting every scout set up with an online portal, order forms are available from Alicia. We have opted out of show and sells for this year due to the current state of the pandemic and the inability to return product we do not sell. As a committee, we decided to forego the potential to be stuck with product at the end of the season. This fundraiser will also bring in 20% to scout funds. Order forms are due to Alicia no later than October 17th and product will be available for pick up the week of November 20th after being sorted.
If any family has a new or updated e-mail address please let Chuck or Alicia know ASAP as this will be how each family gets their online portal for popcorn.
Contact Information
Before we finish this evening, I wanted to introduce myself. I am Alicia Austin. My son Thomas is a Webelos and Matthew will be joining us this year as a Lion. I was treasurer for Pack 13 in Wilson previously, and my husband Zack was the Cub Master. We are excited about continuing our families scouting adventure with Pack 29, where I have volunteered to be Popcorn Kernel and Fundraising chairperson. I am always available via e-mail or text or phone call. Below are the easiest ways to contact me, or you can always grab me at Pack or Den events with questions, ideas, or concerns regarding fundraising. Happy Scouting!
