Cubmaster’s Notes
Thank You For Another Great Year
We’re closing the chapter on another successful Scout year, and I just want to say Thank You to all of our Scouting families and to our leaders for supporting Pack 29. It is a distinct honor to be able to work alongside our scout families to help our scouts grow.
2025-2026 Highlights
For the end of the year, I thought it would be fun to look back at some of the highlights from our year. This year, our pack:
- Welcomed 11 new scouts and 8 new leaders;
- Celebrated the graduation of 7 AOLs and 4 outgoing leaders;
- Held 8 Pack Meetings and 7 Den Meetings;
- Participated in 3 Minsi Trails Council events;
- Had 3 camp outings or trips;
- Held 3 fundraisers that included 7 Show & Sell events in the community;
- Supported our community at 2 events; Scouting for Food and the Easton Memorial Day Parade;
- Collected more than 2600 lbs of food and dry goods for our community.
We’ve come a long way since September, and we couldn’t do it without the support of our Pack leaders, volunteers, and families.
Memorial Day Parade
Pack 29 was invited to participate in Easton’s annual Memorial Day Parade again in 2026. This year, eight scouts and six leaders joined Troops 25 and 2019G to march down Northampton St. in honor of those who made the ultimate sacrifice. I can’t overstate how proud we are of our scouts for giving this event this respect it deserves and for representing our local scouting community so well!
Thank you to everyone who braved the rain and to Bob Obermeyer for inviting us to be part of something so special!
Summer Activities
While the pack (and this newsletter) goes on summer break, there are no shortage of activities to keep your Scout engaged this summer! I’ll be sending more info about these events as they approach, but here is summary:
- Trash for Cash w/ the Iron Pigs: June 28
- Summer Camp Alternatives
- Three-Day Weekend-Only Camp: August 7-9
- Summer Day Camp – August 10-14
- Pack 29 Planning Meeting – August 9
- Scout Night w/ Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs – August 14
- Arndt’s Lutheran Church 200th Anniversary Scout Celebration – August 15-16.
May Den Activities
In May, all of our dens worked hard to finish up the last few requirements in order to earn their ranks.
Lions & Tigers
In May, the Lions and Tigers were led on a short hike by the Webelos. They learned about Leave No Trace and got a refresher on the Six Essentials.
Wolves
The Wolves wrapped up most of their adventures ahead of time, so they spent some time at home finishing up last-minute requirements.
Bears
The Bears finished up some miscellaneous requirements and then spent an afternoon working on their Baloo the Builder adventure!
Webelos
The Webelos finished their Bobcat and Webelo Walkabout adventures, and then spent some time at home finishing up some of their last-minute requirements.
